Jason Tyler Wiant

Jason Tyler Wiant (J.T.), 48, of Lewis Center, Ohio, passed away on July 26, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. J.T. was born on April 4, 1976, to Keith and Ann (Throckmorton) Wiant in Troy, Ohio. After J.T. graduated from Troy High School in 1994, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in communications at Bowling Green State University where he was member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, graduating in 1998. J.T. had a special love for tennis, a sport where he excelled. As a 4-year varsity letterman at Troy HS, J.T. compiled numerous singles and doubles league titles and attended the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy Camp. After graduating college, he worked in staffing account management at his mother’s company, Midwest Nursing which started him in his professional journey in healthcare. J.T. most recently was a PCA at Ohio State University’s Wexner Center in the brain and spinal care center where he cared for patients with a very high level of passion and empathy. J.T. was lauded by many as the “funniest person that they ever met”. His clever wit and timing of jokes and funny comments always lit up a room. He was adored by many friends and co-workers who valued his friendship, guidance, compassion for his work and fierce loyalty. In short, J.T. certainly marched to the beat of his own drum. He was a lover of animals and the earthand had a special love for music, especially the band moe. whohe followed by attending multiple shows during their concert tours. J.T. also had a special and cherished relationship with his nieces and nephews who he loved to spend time with and spoil. J.T. was predeceased by his faithful companion and loved dog Niko, grandparents, Lowellwood (Woody) Wiant and Beaulah (McDonald) Wiant, Mary Jane (Corwin) Throckmorton and Francis Throckmorton along with his nephew, Collin Wiant all of whom he will be re-united with in Heaven. He is survived by his mother and father, Keith and Ann; brother, Wade and his wife Kathleen (Fallon); his sister, Liz Kaufmann and her husband, Anton; his nephews, Austin Wiant and wife Paige (Regrut), Aidan Wiant and A.J. Kaufmann; his nieces, Olivia (Wiant) Rice and her husband Cody, Ava Wiant, and Kristen Kaufmann. Calling hours will be held at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio 43065 on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 11am-1pm with a Service following calling hours beginning at 1pm. The family will hold a celebration of life immediately following the service with details on location made available during the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Wolf Creek Habitat and Rescue (https://www.wolfcreekhabitat.org/) an organization J.T. felt strongly about and spent many special moments.
