Holly Ann "Harrison" Ray

Holly Ann (Harrison) Ray, age 54, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness. She was born on October 2, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio and was a graduate of Dublin High School, Class of 1974. Holly graduated from Columbus State Community College (AS, Nursing) and Franklin University (BS, Nursing). She spent the last 30 years as a Registered Nurse in an obstetrics practice and later cared for newborns and mothers at Riverside Hospital. For several years, Holly was also an adjunct instructor in nursing clinical studies at Columbus State Community College of Nursing. Holly will be especially remembered for her unwavering devotion to helping others in need, her dedication to family and friends along with her ability to focus on the details of any situation at hand. She wore many hats in life: from first born to wife and mother, to student and teacher, from nurse to patient and from confidant to counselor…but most importantly as a “best friend” to everyone. Holly is preceded in death by her husband Gary Ray, her biological father Richard O. Harrison, Jr. and her brother Jeffrey Harrison. She is survived by her daughters: Sarah (PJ) Cain and Emily (Tim) Champ; parents: Marilyn and Gary Termeer; sister Mary Beth Wilson; brother Keith (Marta) Harrison; half-sister Mary (Harrison) Stout; grandchildren: Mackenzie Cain, Alex and Ava Champ; step-sisters: Laurie (Eric) Denney and Lynda (Pete) Corrova; nieces and nephews: Ryan Wilson, Paige and Paul Harrison, Amanda (Denney) Cochran, Dominy and Morgan Denney, Courtney and Cody Corrova, Samantha Stout, Cael Denney; and of course many extended family members and close friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Odyssey House Hospice for their help and support and their caring staff. Family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm. TUESDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, Ohio 43065 where funeral services will be held 11:00am. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2011 with Pastor Darryl Bell, officiating. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Burial will follow the service at Oller Cemetery, Delaware, Ohio.
