Gloria Bond

Gloria Bond, age 77, of Dublin, entered Heaven on Sunday, March 23, 2014. Gloria was born and raised by her parents Norm and Alice in Elwood City, PA. She went to Allegheny College where she graduated with a degree in education and moved to Riverside, CA where she taught high school English for three years. In 1962, she left for Japan where she taught military dependents for a year and a half. While there, she traveled extensively and enjoyed her stay. After returning from Japan, she taught English again in San Diego, CA for three years during which she met her husband Robert of 48 years. He was a Naval Officer and was transferred to the East Coast. They had two sons, Jeffery and Erich. After leaving the Navy, Robert and Gloria entered civilian life and lived in Connecticut and New Jersey. They then moved to Atlanta where they lived for 13 years. In 1985, they moved to Dublin, Ohio where they reside today. Gloria had many friends and associates and she was loved by all. She was active in many activities including the Columbus Art Museum, tennis, golf, yoga and book club. Her friends and family miss her engaging personality, sharp wit, unforgettable character and her ability to put any problem into perspective. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert; sons, Jeffrey (Jill) of Atlanta, GA and Erich (Gretchen) of Dublin; and her grandchildren, Courtney, Trevor and Max; niece, Patty (David) Edwards of Bradenton, FL and their family; and many friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. TUESDAY at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471 where Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2014 with Pastor Ken Harrell, officiating. Burial will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, OH.
