Evan C. Mercer Sr.

Evan C. Mercer, Sr., age 70, of Powell, OH and formerly a long-time resident of Mansfield, OH before moving to Powell, met his Lord and Savior at home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Born in Coshocton, OH to the late Clancy and Mary Mercer, Evan was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1963 where he met the love of his life Karen Pickworth. They were married in 1965 and celebrated 50 years together. Evan was the president of Mercer Impressions, Inc. He and Karen moved to Powell in 2004. Karen passed this summer on August 19, 2015. Evan is survived by his children, Sheri (Michael) Limbert of Powell and Evan C. (Brigid) Mercer, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; his adored grandchildren, Austin, Jacob and Sydney Limbert; his sisters-in-law: Carol (Roger) Blackstone of Mansfield, Sonnie Zerby of Toledo, OH and Lana Snyder of Bolivar, OH and their families. Evan was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Larry Zerby and Richard Snyder. Evan was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church. While living in Mansfield, Evan and Karen attended First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Optimist Club and volunteered for many organizations. He served on the Board of Trustees of Mansfield Memorial Park for many years. Together, Evan and Karen operated their printing business after purchasing the company in 1989. Their family was the center of their lives and Evan and Karen adored their children and grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 p.m. on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3, 2015 at LIBERTY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 7080 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, OH 43015 with Pastor John Hart, officiating. (The church is located on Olentangy River Road/SR 315 at the corner of Home Road.) Burial will be held later at Mansfield Memorial Park.
