Esther K. Seymour

Esther Kurucz Seymour, age 77, of Powell, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Columbus to the late John and Rosie Kurucz, Esther was a graduate of Columbus Central High School, Class of 1952. She later graduated from Columbus Business University and worked at Lazarus Downtown and Huntington National Bank. Esther was married for 37 years to Richard Shaw Seymour. A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, she raised her five children at their home in Powell. A gentle, quiet and thoughtful soul, Esther was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her family, trains, Ohio State football, the Cleveland Browns and was a fan of talk radio. Esther loved olde time country music, bluegrass and Elvis. Esther fought with courage, grace and dignity as she struggled for a year with multiple myeloma, a rare blood cancer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Richard. Esther is survived by her children: Mary Kay Seymour, of Grandview Heights; Patty Seymour, of Beckley, WV; John (Melissa) Seymour, of Radnor, OH; Jim (Laurie) Seymour, of Medina, OH; and Carol (Plinio) Gutierrez, of Gig Harbor, WA; grandchildren: Alex, Ryan, Gubidxa, Gage, Zach, Aaron and Holly; sister-in-law: Martha S. Lyon, of Granite Bay, CA; and three nieces and their families. Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm. THURSDAY, AUGUST 18, 2011 at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 West Olentangy St., Powell, OH 43065 (614)-792-1471 where funeral services will be held at 7:00pm. Thursday evening with Pastor Doug Geyer, officiating. (The funeral home is located on W. Olentangy St./Powell Rd./SR 750 ¼ mile east of Sawmill Parkway.) Graveside Services will be held 1:00pm. Friday, August 19th at Mound View Cemetery, 307 Wooster Rd., Mt. Vernon, OH 43050.
