E. Jean Petry

PETRY (Sinzinger) Electa Jean Lockhart Petry, passed on Sunday, July 12, 2009, from life on earth to life ETERNAL based on her faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ, her Savior. In John, chapter 14, verse 6, Jesus said, "I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE; no one comes to the Father but through ME." She joins her parents Albert and Texie (Snyder) Lockhart, her brother William Franklin Lockhart, and her baby sister Dorothy Ann Lockhart. Jean was born August 18, 1922, raised in Clarksburg, W.Va., where she graduated from Victory High School, and later, attended Philadelphia School of the Bible. The passion of her life was teaching Who Jesus Christ is and why He came to earth; for more than 40 years she taught Sunday School and Bible classes for Primary-age children. She was a gifted artist creating realistic backgrounds and illustrated songs for her lessons. She was a trained teacher for Child Evangelism Fellowship, a member of Children's Hospital Twig 131, and attended Calvary Bible Church for many years, but most recently worshipped at Grace Church in Powell. She is survived by her children, Jeanetta and William Sinzinger and I. Edward and Martha Petry; her grandchildren, Nicole and Jonathan Lefor, Andrew and Brittany Sinzinger, Sarah Petry and Eric Petry; and her great-grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Josiah, Baby Lefor and Baby Sinzinger. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mason and the staff of Arlington Court Nursing Facility, Paula Mayes, Sharon Auteri, Anne Allenstein, and Home Reach Hospice for their loving care during Jean's illness. Friends may call at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. A celebration of Jean's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Grace Church in Powell, 7600 Liberty Rd., Powell, Oh. Dr. Tony Beckett officiating, following which the family will greet guests.
