Donald George Morgan

Donald George Morgan, age 76, passed peacefully into God’s hands on Saturday, January 24, 2015. He grew up in rural North Dakota, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University. He joined the Navy and served his country as a Lt Commander on the U. S. S. Yorktown and on the Pacific Island of Chichi-jima. He worked for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) until his retirement after 30 years, working through seven homes in seven states and millions of miles of travel. After retirement, he moved to the beautiful mountains of Colorado Springs, Co, where he and his wife, Lavone, had many enjoyable years, traveling and doing woodwork. Don was a dedicated father and husband. He was known as “Super Dad” to his children and many of their friends, because of his gregarious sense of humor and because he often piled everyone in the car for a trip to Dairy Queen. He loved getting his friends and family together in Las Vegas for long weekends and big steak dinners at Circus Circus. He was a loving and generous grandfather. Even in his slower last few years, he had a knack for bringing humor and joy to the people around him. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Myrtle Morgan, four of his sisters: Faye Quick, Mavis Robberstad and infant twin siblings, and his brothers-in-law, Jim Noonan, Jim Heisler and Dale Robberstad. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lavone Morgan, his children: Christopher (JP) Morgan and wife Laura, Kara (Jo) Morgan and husband John McCarthy, and Kimberly (Tigger) Morgan, his grandchildren: Mary Katherine Morgan, Joshua Montgomery Morgan, Elinor Morgan McCarthy and Sean Morgan McCarthy, his siblings, Tess Heisler, Pat Noonan, Bob (Judy) Morgan, Bernard (Mary) Morgan, Geri Ann (Tom) Eitter and Charlotte (Mick) Plante and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 Noon FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2015 at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017 where family will receive friends before the Mass beginning at 11:00a.m. The Reverend Kevin Kavanagh will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH. The family will also receive friends following the burial services at Dublin Retirement Village, 6470 Post Road, Dublin, OH 43016.
