Donald Lewis Brown, MD

Donald Lewis Brown, MD., known by his friends and family as “Deacon”. Born July 14, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio. Preceeded in death by his parents, Donald D. Brown and Geraldine Wheat Brown. Died at home Thursday, June 30, 2011 surrounded by his loving family who cared for and tended to him in his final days. Survived by his wife of 38 years and best friend, Mary Jane, and his children, Paul Fallon (Khisha), Quinn Fallon (Jessie), Kathleen Fallon Wiant (Wade), Erin Fallon, and Megan Brown Nowak (Peter), and beloved grandchildren, Austin Wiant, Olivia Wiant, Collin Wiant, Aidan Wiant and Ava Wiant. He also leaves behind his sister, Jeanie Brown and other special family members, Dr. Timothy Fallon, John Fallon, Janie Fallon-Murphy, Nancy Willemstein and Diana Whightsel. He was a 1956 graduate of Aquinas High School where he made many enduring friendships that he enjoyed until his death. He graduated from Providence College and from The Ohio State University School of Medicine. He served an internship at the University of Minnesota Hospital and a residency at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He had a lifelong career as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist during which he touched innumerable lives at facilities such as Harding Hospital, Franklin County Children Services, and Hannah Neil Center for Children. He will be remembered with fondness for his gentle manner and his intelligence, great wit, sense of humor and collection of crazy hats. He loved his family and many wonderful friends, and greatly enjoyed boating on Lake Erie, his car book collection, meeting people, parties, and having friends and family in his home. In addition to being a loyal Cleveland Browns fan, he was also a devoted supporter of Watterson High School Football and assorted sports at St. Andrews School. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235 with Monsignor Frank Mouch, Celebrant.
