Dianna Jane Harrison, known affectionately as Janie, left this world on November 8th, 2023, at the age of 79. Janie was a remarkable woman, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a profound impact on those fortunate enough to have known her. Born on May 21, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio, Janie was the daughter of Richard and Gladys Moore and grew up as one of five siblings. She attended East High School and graduated in 1962. Janie's professional journey began at the State of Ohio Library and later led her to the Bureau of Natural Resources, where her passion for political science blossomed. She continued her career at State Street Consultants alongside Neil Clark, forming a partnership that endured until her retirement in 2021. Janie actively participated in Democratic Party politics, contributing to various campaigns and attending multiple National Democratic Conventions, including those in 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, and 1992. Her dedication extended to working on Presidential and Gubernatorial campaigns for figures such as Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Dick Celeste. On July 8th, 1972, Janie married the love of her life, Warren Steve Harrison. Their enduring fifty-plus-year union was a testament to the strength of their love. Together with their daughters, Cindy, Chrissy, Warni, and granddaughter Chanell. Janie's family remained a source of support and comfort until her last moments. Janie's talents and interests were as diverse as her life experiences. She found joy in singing with the church choir, enjoying movies with her husband, and showcasing her culinary skills by preparing delicious meals for family and friends. Janie's home was a warm haven where everyone was welcome, and her culinary creations were shared generously, leaving lasting memories of laughter and togetherness. Her husband, Steve, often remarked on Janie's exceptional kindness, her ability to make everyone feel seen, heard, and loved. Janie's impact extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. Her genuine care and warmth made the world a better place. Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Gladys Moore, sister Patricia Ann Guy, and brothers Richard Walter Moore Jr. and Raphael Ricardo Moore. She is survived by her devoted husband, Warren Steve Harrison, brother Samuel Luis Moore, daughters Cynthia Renee Tucker, Christina Lynn (Irving) Santiago, Warni Stevi (Damon) Flournoy, grandchildren Chanell Latrice (Rodney) Dawson, Sara Elena (Michael) Santiago, Warren Steve Tucker, Damon Lee Riley, Matthew Damon Flournoy, Malcolm Eugene Flournoy, Richard Anthony Newland, Maya Sophia Flournoy, and Sophia Dianna Santiago and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. Dianna Jane Harrison's passing leaves a void, but her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. We will gather in honor of our beloved at St. Philip Episcopal Church located at 166 Woodland Ave. Columbus, Ohio. This heartfelt occasion will take place on Saturday, November 18th, commencing at 11:00 am. Prior to the service, the family kindly invites visitors to join them at 10:00 am for a moment of solace and reflection.
