David Glen Roberts

David Glen Roberts, age 83, born in Cleveland, OH in 1929, passed away peacefully in Powell, OH on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 after a courageous battle with Mesothelioma. Beloved husband of Joanne Roberts, the love of his life for 62 years. Loving father to David B. Roberts (Marcia) of Ft. Myers, FL, Jan Yates of Columbus, Dale E. Roberts (Jackie) of Deltona, FL. Grandfather to Joshua Roberts (Cindi) of Ft. Myers, FL, Rachel Roberts of Ft. Myers, FL, Nicole Yates (Dawn Ruggles), Lindsay Yates, Christopher Yates, all of Columbus, Sean Roberts (Kelly) of NC, Jaime Roberts of FL, Dylan Roberts of FL. Great-grandfather to Oliver Ian and Molly June. Special grandfather/great-grandfather to Nick and Jay Cannell, Michael (Michele) and Kyra, Melina Cannell, Colin and Annika Ruggles and Mara Yates. David served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War as an EM2 aboard the USS Frontier and continued to serve in the Naval Reserve, retiring in 1959 with the rank of Chief. An avid lifetime fan of his beloved Buckeyes, he retired after a long career as a sales and marketing executive in the HVAC industry. He then came out of retirement to work as a zoning inspector for Liberty Township until February, 2013. Always active in the community and church, he held many positions including the head of the Building Committee at St. Joan of Arc Church. David will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His rescue dogs, Evie and Bailey, are already looking for him. Friends and family will gather from 1:00-4:00pm.
