David J. Benney

David J. Benney, age 47, of Dublin, Ohio and a native of Monongahela, Pennsylvania, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Born in Monongahela to the late Dolores and Joseph Benney, Dave was a graduate of Ringgold High School, Class of 1981. He received both his Bachelor of Science and Masters, Business Administration degrees from Penn State University. An engineer, he was an employee of Armstrong World Industries. Dave was a 4th Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus, St. Brigid of Kildare Council #10863; member of the Ginger Hill Grange #1549, Washington, PA; Past Exalted Ruler, Monongahela, PA #455, B.P.O.E; life member of the NRA; and a faithful parishioner of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church where he served as an Eucharistic Minister. In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Benney. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Mary Beth Benney and children Al and Steph Benney, all of Dublin; brother, Joe (Linda) Benney and family, of Monongahela; sister, Barb (Lance) Leyda and family, of Vanderbilt, PA; sister-in-law, Carla Benney and family, of Gastonville, PA; brother-in-law, Michael Shaffer and family, of Lancaster, PA; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Monday, April 5, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Monongahela with burial following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
