Daun R Knox

Daun R. Knox, age 72, of Columbus, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Daun was retired from AEP after 17 years of service. He was also a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran serving in the Vietnam War, and a graduate of Steubenville “Big Red” High School. Preceded in death by his mother, Kaye LaVonne Knox & sister, Sharon Miles. Daun is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Missy; nephews, Daun (Edee) McBride, Scott and Gerry Haines; niece, Jennifer Jolliffe; great niece, Tiffany (Josef) Kraft; great nephews, Daun Joseph “DJ” McBride, Chad Smith; great niece, Danielle Allred; and other relatives & friends. Daun was a member of Community Lodge #684 F & AM, where he served as Worshipful Master in 1988. He also served the Grand Lodge of Ohio as a District Education Officer from 1990-1992, and a District Deputy Grand Master of the 14th Masonic District from 1993-1995. 32nd Degree Masons, Valley of Columbus, A.A.S.R., Aladdin Shriners and was a Past President of the Past Masters Unit. Daun was a Senior DeMolay and recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honor; and was the Co-Chair of the 14th Masonic District VA Hospital Visitation Program, and a Past Sovereign Master of Andrew J. White Council #245 A.M.D. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2016 at Northwest Masonic Temple, 2436 West Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, with Rev. Dr. Joel Baer officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Masonic Temple.
