Corinne Fletcher

Corinne “Connie” Kossmann Fletcher, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 27, 2023, at The Cherith Care Center at Willow Brook. Connie was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Fletcher who passed away in 1997, as well as her brother William Kossmann, daughter Sharon Fletcher Allen, and grandson Lance Warner. As a lifelong resident of Columbus, she considered herself a bit of a historian and loved to share memories of her days growing up in Clintonville, her beloved North High School, and the OSU Buckeyes. She was an active member of the North High Women’s Alumnae Association, the BPAA, and the Clintonville Womens’ Club. Connie was a stay-at-home mom for several years, after which she worked in accounts receivable at several local offices, including Suburban Motor Freight, KFC, and Mettler Toledo Scale, which she retired from in 1992. After retirement, she and Bill travel extensively in their motorhome before deciding to relocate and split their time between Florida and Columbus. Connie was a strong woman who lived a long full life. She was fiercely independent (to a fault at times). Known as “Grammy” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was incredibly proud of all of their accomplishments. She enjoyed visiting with them and sharing pictures and mementos about her life. She loved her family and friends, and will be missed for her memories, patience and kindness. She is survived by her son Craig (Jana) Fletcher, son in law William “Bill” Allen, grandchildren Amanda Warner, Patrick (Lindsay) Fletcher, Kelly Fletcher, and 4 great grandchildren. Also, by nephew Mark (Diana) Kossmann, and niece Beth (Deanna) Kossmann. The family would like to thank Cherith Care Center at Willow Brook, and Heartland Hospice for their care and support during her brief stay, and the staff and residents at Claremont Retirement Village where she lived for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Heartland Hospice (heartlandhospice.com), the Columbus Zoo for the preservation of the Polar Bear exhibit, or a charity of your choice. There will be a private family burial service, with a Celebration of Life to be planned for a later date.
