Constance Sue Thomas Augenstein

Constance Sue Thomas Augenstein, 67, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Riverside Methodist Hospital where she had been admitted for complications in her battle with rheumatoid arthritis. Connie graduated from Scioto Valley High School, Class of 1961. A graduate of Otterbein College, she went on to teach in the Licking Valley School District, before she and her then husband, Larry bought and ran Agri Sales. She was a member of Bellpoint United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Elma Thomas and ex husband, Larry. Survived by two sons, Trent and Shad; brother Don (Margo) Thomas and many other family and close friends. Family will receive friends 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy St. (Powell Rd./St. Rt. 750/1/4 mile east of Sawmill Pkwy) Powell, OH 43065 where a funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. MONDAY, December 27, 2010. For complete obituary and additional information, go to: www.rutherfordfuneralhomes.com In the 1980’s, Connie was a part-time employer for the ABN, and close friends with the Ed Johnson family, but as Agri Sales’ business grew, it became her full-time job until her health kept her from the shop. Connie suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and the disease forced her into her “Jazzy” the motorized chair. This never slowed her down and she continued to do and go. An avid OSU fan, she attended bowl games and events with friends and family. She loved the Delaware County Fair and was an annual buyer at the Junior Fair Sale. When you saw Connie, you would also see Kathy Blevins. She and her daughter, Nicole shared the “care giving” duties, but were more like family to Connie in these last 4 years. Connie could be found on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the “Iaconna Gang.” This special group of friends met weekly and enjoyed food, fellowship and on occasion, a bit of travel. She will be missed, especially by her close friends and brother whom she frequently reached out to, Don (Margo) Thomas, Jerry (Diane) Monahan, Gary (Carol) Davis and Joni Regala.
