Carla Cooksey Mondillo

Carla Lynn Mondillo, age 66, of Columbus, died suddenly Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born in Barberton, Ohio, she was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1965 and graduated from the Riverside Nursing School. Most recently, Carla was a Registered Nurse at Northwest Family Physicians in Columbus. Carla cared for the health of others throughout her entire life, in the early years in the O.R. and later in the physician practice setting. Incredibly intelligent and passionate, she was a rabid OSU football fan, loved cheering her kids in sports, loved animals and her family fiercely. She was very active and involved in coaching her kid's sports teams. Carla was an engaging person who did not know a stranger and made everyone feel welcome at all times. She was incredibly generous and loving not only to her family but to all her wonderful friends. Carla loved her computer, crossword puzzles and fussing over her two children, her furry companion Bogey the Cat, grandcats and her grandchildren. Preceded in death by her sister Carolyn Cooksey Allman, she is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Ann Mondillo of Charlottesville, VA; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Andrew and Heather R. Mondillo of Skillman, NJ; grandchildren, Roman Angelo Mondillo and Ryder Andrew-Lee Mondillo; grandcats, Hannah, Harlow and Griffin; brother and sister-in-law, Alan R. and Rosemary Cooksey of Pollack Pines, CA; sister, Jan Data of Norton, OH; beloved family and friends Robert and Carol Mondillo of Columbus; and her many other wonderful family and friends.
