Calvin Dean Holt Calvin Dean Holt, age 75, of Columbus, passed into his Savior’s arms October 20, 2015 with family and friends at his bedside. He was born August 29,1940 in Piketon, Ohio. Preceded in death by mother, Neta Mustard Wood and father, Vernon Calvin Holt, sister, Doris Kay, and brother, James Wood. Survived to cherish his memory are wife of 51 years, Judy Holt; sons, C. Mark (Michelle) Holt, Craig S. (Tammie) Holt, Cory D. Holt; daughter Jodi (Holt) Coplan (Joe); and goddaughter, Kathy (John) Cookman; grandchildren, Jackie (Lanny) Moffa, Mark Holt, Lindsey Thompson, Caleb Holt, Carter Holt, Jayla Coplan, Janey Coplan, ChuckThompson, Jason Gall, Becca Crouch, Ricky Crouch, Rusty Anderson, Katie Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Emily Taylor, Hayden Taylor, Mellie Moffa, Carson Moffa, Nicholas Thompson, Justin Gall, Elijah Holt and Kayden Anderson; numerous relatives include, sisters, Sue McKnabb, Deb (Les) Barcus, Pam Wood; brothers, Howard (Eunice) Wood, and Eddie Wood. Numerous nieces; nephews, and cousins. Calvin was a graduate of Central High School and Columbus Technical Institute. He also attended The Ohio State University. He was a veteran of the US Army, retired Columbus Police Sergeant and retired Security Administrator at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He attended Indianola Church of Christ for over 50 years and humbly served as an elder, youth sponsor, Sunday School teacher, filled in preaching, sang in the choir, and led a shut-in visitation ministry. He served as the Chaplain for ASIS. He was a huge Buckeye, Bengal and Reds fan. Calvin touched many lives with his smile, encouraging words, unconditional love and his embracing bear hugs. He never knew a stranger. He loved spending time with his family, watching the grandchildren, and enjoyed annual trips with his anniversary group. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 at 10 a.m. and calling hours will be on Sunday, October 25, 2015, 2-4 p.m. and 5:30-8 p.m. at Indianola Church of Christ. Service will be officiated by Josh Rodriguez and Mike Richardson. Arrangements entrusted to Rutherford Corbin Funeral Home. Interment will take place after the Memorial Service at Glen Rest Cemetery. Flowers may be delivered to Indianola Church of Christ, 2141 Indianola Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201 or donations may be made to the college ministry at Indianola Church of Christ.
