Annette Marie Stevenson

Annette Marie Stevenson, age 22, of Sunbury OH passed away on Friday September 6, 2019 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She is survived by her parents, Brian and Michelle Stevenson, grandparents, Bob and Marj Stevenson, siblings Grant, Ross and Jocelyn Stevenson, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Annette was raised in Dublin, OH and graduated from Dublin Jerome High School in 2015. After high school Annette attended Stone Lake Center Adult Day Care in Sunbury Ohio. In 2018, Annette moved to a small group home in Sunbury where she lived with her roommate Exie Southern. Annette will always be remembered for her big smile that brightened every room. She enjoyed listening to music, taking walks outside, and being with her grandparents. Despite her handicaps, Annette bravely faced each day and inspired everyone around her to do the same. Our family was blessed by her presence and the amazing people we met along her journey. Annette will be forever loved and missed. Annette is preceded in death by her twin sister Lauren Nicole, her grandparents Harold and Edith Leist and great grandparents Bill and Eleanor Sorensen. Visitation on Friday September 13, 2019 2:30 to 4pm at Indian Run United Methodist Church 6305 Brand Rd, Dublin OH followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Best Life Now Foundation 144 N Columbus Street Sunbury, Ohio 43074, a 501(c)3 organization whose purpose is to support the lives of medically fragile adults in Delaware County. Our family would like to pay a special tribute to the many people that allowed Annette to have a full and rich life: Brandy Stenson and Drew Barezinsky, Vicki, Lisa, Bobby and the rest of the Stone Lake Staff, Nationwide Children’s Hospital where Annette received amazing care and was treated with great dignity and compassion, Dr. Craig Thompson and the staff at Upper Arlington Pediatrics, Dublin City Schools where she was included in a regular school day as much as possible during her whole school career, Recreation Unlimited where she was able to attended both day camp and residence camp, and finally a shout out to Lazy Chameleon in Powell where was Annette was always welcome. The memory of Annette will be with us each day and the memory of her smile will warm our hearts. The Best Life Now Foundation was organized in 2017 with the purpose of supporting medically fragile adults in Delaware County. The foundation supports the outstanding work of Stone Lake Center*, which currently operates a Day Support Center for 26 adults and provides “round the clock” home care services to individuals in their 24/7 residences. While government aid provides basic support, this foundation’s intention is to provide the residences a more enriched life whether through additional clothing, transportation, furniture, or outings etc. To date this foundation helped to fund a driveway extension allowing the Stone Lake buses the ability to pull out of the center onto a busy road avoiding the need to back out. The Foundation’s current project is creating a handicap accessible sensory garden on the grounds of the center. A garden where residence can enjoy the sound of a water fountain, fragrant smells from a variety of plants, the tactile sensation of a planting bench, and the just the pleasure of fresh air and sunshine and green grass.
