Amy "Sessi" Harris

Amy Harris (Sessi), age 47, of Dublin, passed away Thursday March 1, 2012, while participating in her favorite pastime, running. She was born October 12, 1964, to Peggy Jo and Geno Sessi. She grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where she developed a lifelong love for running, country music, and the Steelers. Amy graduated from The Ohio State University and was an unwavering and passionate fan of the Buckeyes. She spent almost twenty-four years at the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation, a job she enjoyed with people she loved. She was a member of the Columbus Running Club, a soccer mom in the truest sense, a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved daughter and sister, and friend to many of all ages. Amy is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Helen and Geno Sessi; her maternal grandparents, Margaret and Edward McClain; and her cousin Jay McClain. Left to treasure her memory are her beloved husband and friend, Jack, her cherished daughter Alexis, and her three stepdaughters, Alexis Kaye, Sydney and Ryann. She is survived by her parents Peggy Jo and Geno Sessi, St. Clairsville; sister Tammy (Rich) Spence, Orlando; niece Bella; in-laws Nancy and Jack Harris, West Branch, MI.; sister-in-law Julie Harris, Bellingham, WA; sister-in-law Cindy (Dale) Dunlop, Hazelpark, MI; her Uncle Jack and Aunt Judy McClain, St. Clairsville; cousin Molly (Robert) Langenstein, New York City; her second “mom” Linda Dowler; special friends Kim (Edward) Hartman, Heidi (Brett) Williams and Tania Schade; and numerous dear friends with whom she grew up with, ran with, worked with, laughed with, carpooled with, and shared her beautiful life with. Amy’s smile was known to many and will be sorely missed. We know she continues to look out for her daughter from above, and she is running the gold-paved paths in heaven. A Funeral Service will follow at 8:00pm. MONDAY. Amy will then be taken to St. Clairsville for visitation from 4-7 PM TUESDAY at BECK-ALTMEYER FUNERAL HOME, 204 W Main St., St. Clairsville, OH 43950. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2012 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH in St. Clairsville, OH. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute in Amy’s name to the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the title beneficiary of the Columbus Marathon. They may also walk/run in her name as a Children’s Champion in the marathon or half- marathon while fundraising for Nationwide Children’s Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2012.
