Bill used to sing, “Turn out the lights, the party’s over...” especially when the OSU football team was not performing as he had hoped. He loved that song. On November 8th, 2019, Bill sang to us his final song. This kind, loyal and loving man was a devoted husband, father, friend and patriot. He held on when lesser men may have given up. He truly lived a life of good humor (not the ice cream, as there was nothing vanilla about him), and service to others. Bill is survived by his high school sweetheart, Teresa, whom he placed on a pedestal nearly 50 years ago, and where she currently remains to this day. Also living life to the fullest in his honor are their three wonderful sons and their families: Jeffrey & Amber and their children Alex & Sarah, Kevin & Vikki and their daughter Hadley, and Andrew & Sue. Also surviving him are his sister and brother-in-law Carolyn & Pat Appignani, and sisters-in-law Peggi, Bobbi & Mary Ann, and the Scholl & Appignani nieces and nephews: David, Michael, Andy, Tom, Chris, Doug, Jenny, Rhyan, Katie and their families. To his dear, supportive friends - you are too many to mention, but you know who you are, Bill was always grateful to have you in his life. He is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary, and his siblings Frances, Julia, Paul, Tom and Bob. In lieu of flowers, please celebrate the joy of life by doing something special with loved ones or surprise a stranger. Calling hours will be: Sunday, November 17th 1:30-3:30PM at The Rutherford Funeral Home 450 West Olentangy Street (Powell Rd) Powell, OH 43065 A brief service will follow at 3:30 PM Immediately following the service, we will celebrate Bill the only way we know how, as Irish and Italians (Ancestry.com verified) with an evening of music, laughter, drinking, food, stories and drinking. For those of us who knew and loved him, we know what he wanted us to understand - that all good things don’t have to come to an end. He may have called it a night, but for those of us left to remember his love, his laugh, and his life, “tomorrow starts the same old thing again.” We love you Bill Scholl.
