Edward Joseph Baldwin

Edward Joseph Baldwin, age 77 passed away Friday May 3rd in Phoenix Arizona with his loving wife Patricia Baldwin at his side. Many friends and family had the opportunity to say goodbye in the months leading up to his passing. Proceeded in death by parents, Joseph L. Baldwin, Margaret Baldwin, and brother Kevin Baldwin. Survived by Patricia Baldwin (wife), Edward J. Baldwin Jr. (son) and wife Nancy M. Vejar, David B. Baldwin (son) and wife Rachelle A. Baldwin, Colleen R. Mendes (daughter) and husband Ryan J. Mendes, Stephen P. Bonnette (stepson) and Devyn S Bonnette (step grandchild). Survived by grandchildren: Alexis L. Baldwin, Ella R. Baldwin, August D. Baldwin, Kiara E. Smith, Ava L. Baldwin, and Valentina M. Baldwin Vejar. He is also survived by brothers, Jerry, Jim, Joe, and Dennis as well as their wives and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Ed, a resident of the greater Phoenix, AZ area since 2003 and previously a long-time resident of Columbus, Ohio graduated from Sharon High School in Pennsylvania class of 1965. He went on to get his mechanical engineering degree from Youngstown State University in 1970 and served his country admirably as a member of the national guard following his graduation from college. Ed had a successful career achieving the position of general manager of Fastner House in his 20’s, later in the 1980’s and 1990’s he was a top medical salesman, and most recently a corporate trainer at a major airline until he retired in 2015. Ed took immense pride in being a coach and a mentor to family, friends, and colleagues with wisdom accumulated over a lifetime. He was a big supporter & advisor to his children’s activities in football, wrestling, soccer, swimming, Webelos, academics and their adult work careers. He was enthusiastic about his hobby of riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed membership in several motorcycle clubs. Boating with his uncle and later with his young family was a source of many summers of joy. It was his wish that his remains be returned to the lake he grew up on as a child. In lieu of a service there will be a celebration of his life near the lake of his childhood in the summer of 2024 and details will be forthcoming.
