Charles D. Yoho

Charles (Chuck) Yoho, age 69, of Worthington, Ohio. After a courageous one year battle with pancreatic cancer, Chuck went home to be with the Lord on June 9, 2020. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Chuck was born on December 26, 1950 in Bridgeport, Ohio which he affectionately referred to as “The Valley.” He graduated from Northland High School, class of 1968. Chuck’s career was in commercial flooring and he left his mark on several enterprises including Interior Surfaces, Wilson Floors, Dupont, Rite Rug, Spectra, FMG, and Continental Commercial Floors. Despite his successful business career, Chuck always said that “being a dad” was his first and foremost responsibility. Preceded in death by wife Marie Yoho, parents Dean and Geneva Yoho, brother Larry Yoho. Survived by wife Becky Yoho, sons Scott (Marika) and Mark (Simonair); stepchildren Jessica (Keith) Howard and Abi Levi (Zach McBride); grandchildren Josie and Riley Yoho; Jackson and Baker Yoho; Kael, Jonas, and Xander Howard; Sydney and Gia DeCaro and Jamie McBride; brother John Yoho; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. After the sudden loss of Marie, his wife of 37 years, Chuck was blessed to find love again. Chuck and Becky were married on the beach in Hilton Head and had eight wonderful years together. Chuck was affiliated with Adventure Church, Highlands Presbyterian Church, and The Worthington Noon Lions Club. He was a Steeler and a Buckeye fan, and even had a tryout with the Pittsburgh Pirates when he was 17. Chuck enjoyed golf, table tennis, racquetball, and anything on ESPN. He had a passion for coaching baseball and other sports and spent decades playing in adult summer softball leagues. Chuck’s driving passion in life was the love for and care of his family. His grandchildren brought joy to his life. We will hold calling hours on Sunday, June 14 and Monday, June 15, with a memorial service on Monday. Calling hours from 1-4 pm on Sunday will be held at Rutherford Funeral Homes, 450 West Olentangy Street in Powell, Ohio. Due to the coronavirus, this visitation will be reserved for the at risk population as well as those who are unable to attend on Monday. Masks are recommended as well as social distancing practices. To adhere to the funeral home and state guidelines, you may be asked to wait to enter the room if it has reached capacity (which is 30 people at any given time). While we want everyone to have a chance to spend as much time as they want or need to remember Chuck, it may be necessary to ask you to shorten your visit to allow more people to rotate into the room. We apologize in advance if this occurs and ask for your understanding during these difficult circumstances. We also ask that you refrain from attending on Sunday if you feel comfortable attending calling hours on Monday We will be able to accommodate a larger group of people on Monday, June 15 at Bridgewater Banquet and Conference Center, 10561 Sawmill Parkway in Powell, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on this date from 3-5 pm. Although more people will be allowed in the room at once, masks and social distancing practices are still recommended. A service will take place at the same location at 5:30 pm. We certainly understand that due to COVID-19, there are some people who will not be able to attend calling hours or the service. We know that your hearts are still with us as we remember and honor Chuck during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio in Newark, Ohio; the James Cancer Hospital Solove Research Institute; PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network; or The Worthington Noon Lions Club.
