Obituary:
MAZAK Sara Allison Mazak, 54, died February 16, 2010. She is survived by her parents, Edward and Marcia Mazak; brother, Mark (Mahnaz); nieces, Julia and Suzanne; and devoted friends. Sara earned BA and MA degrees in Political Science from The Ohio State University. Sara worked for the Ohio Department of Education, Office of Career-Technical Education (2000-2010) and The Ohio State University Center for Education and Training (1997-2000). Her contributions inspired countless people in Ohio and internationally. Sara's pleasures were gardening, quilting, sewing, needlework, decorating and spending time with friends and her beloved dogs. Her beauty, intelligence, creativity, independence, integrity and courage could not prevail over the cancer that took her away at a young age. She remains surrounded by our love. Calling hours at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, followed by followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Eric Meter of First Unitarian Church of Columbus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HomeReach Hospice, Ohio Health, 3595 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, OH 43214 or Friends of the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 5852 Heritage Lakes Drive, Hilliard, Ohio 43026.
