Obituary:
Eileen Grace Schuster, age 89, of Columbus, passed on to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Born in New Lexington, Oh. to the late Daisy M. and Raymond Sorohan, Eileen attended elementary school at St. Rose Elementary and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy in New Lexington. A long-time beautician, Eileen operated her own salon for 50 years. She was an avid Buckeye Fan and a founding parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she served as lector, eucharistic minister and secretary for the Leisure Club. Eileen was a long time member of the Northern Lions Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gomer "Bummy" Schuster, son Jack Schuster and sister Bernece Owen. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Jan Van Schoik of Columbus; granddaughters, Katherine Van Schoik of Chicago, Ill. and Sarah Van Schoik of Columbus; and many cousins and beloved friends. Family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington, Oh. 43085, 614-885-4006. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday. August 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 20 East Dominion Blvd., Columbus, Oh. 43214 with The Rev. Kevin Kavanagh, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, New Lexington, Oh. If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, in Eileen's memory.
