Obituary:
CHAPIN Robert W. Chapin, age 92, of Worthington, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Riverside Hospital. Bob was a retired carpenter and long-time resident of Worthington. He was a World War II, United States Army Veteran and an active member of the Brig. General Paul W. Tibbetts Post #2398, VFW and the Leasure-Blackston Post #239, American Legion, Worthington. He is loved and missed by his wife of 69 years, Irene. Preceded in death by daughter, Susan and brother, Harold S. Chapin and greatly missed by daughters, Sonie Hunsaker and Marjorie (Ron) Reed; granddaughters Amy Chapin, Tiffany Howard, Becca Reed; grandsons Joe (Sharlene) Hunsaker, Rob Hunsaker, Travis Reed and great-grandchildren Chloe, Samantha, William and Zoey; brother John W. Chapin. A special thanks to Mary Ulrich, RN with HomeReach Hospice. Family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00pm. Sunday at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 (614)-885-4006 with VFW Service at 3:30pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home 11:00am. Monday June 22, 2009 with Pastor and friend, David L. Bachelor, officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to HomeReach Hospice, c/o OhioHealth Foundation, 180 East Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215-9480, in Bob’s memory.
